Galaxy S4 Disappoints – Top Alternatives & Voucher Codes

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was revealed last week to a blaze fanfare and hype, but now the dust has settled the cracks are beginning to show.

This latest model was supposed to be the best attempt at an iPhone-killer, but seems to be no more than the Galaxy S3 with the added bonus of being able to scroll through emails with your eyes.

Despite the negativity now surrounding Samsung’s latest offering, Carphone Warehouse has claimed that the pre-orders are “off the charts”.

If you thought that the S4 was a disappointment or think your cash could be better spent elsewhere, take a look at these top alternatives and the voucher codes that could help you make some big savings.

iPhone 5
The most obvious challenger to Samsung is Apple’s iPhone. Although it is expected that a new model will be revealed in the near future, the iPhone 5 is still big enough to compete. The S4 beats the iPhone in terms of features, but the rest is up for grabs, particularly the software, with iOS being a firm favourite with Apple fans.

It might be a surprise to see a Sony handset in this list of Galaxy S4 competitors, but this snazzy new (and waterproof!) smartphone is a real competitor. With a 5 inch display, quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel camera and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, it’s one of the most underrated smartphones currently available.

HTC One
Since the early success of the Desire, HTC has struggled to make the same inroads into the smartphone industry as Samsung. However, one of its new releases, the HTC One has received praise from even its harshest critics, particularly for its all-metal construction, 1080p resolution and substantial internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy S3
There is a concern that the Galaxy S4’s predecessor, the S3 could get left behind in all the hype over Samsung’s latest release, but it’s still a decent phone. In fact, it could still blow away most of its competitors. So, what the difference? Well, it’s slightly smaller, faster and has a couple of snazzy features, but if cost-cutting is your priority, the S3 is the best bet.
